- Annual Global Echoes International Charity Concert -
What we do:
Produce one or more annual international choral and orchestral concerts.
Our Objectives:
- Encourage interaction between the foreign and Vietnamese communities by staging joint musical events;
- Encourage young musicians by providing them with opportunities to perform in front of discerning audiences with seasoned professional musicians;
- The establishment of a musical community in HCMC;
- The encouragement of Vietnamese music students through scholarships for both local and international studies.
Hochiminh City, Vietnam
Between March 2008 to November 2011
We have performed at White Palace, Conservatory of Music, Saigon South International School, Korean International School, Intercontinental Asiana Hotel,
and Nam Long Park in Saigon.
Choir:
Fourteen nationalities and local Vietnamese formed a four part choir. Canadian choir from Canada.
Orchestra:
Mostly foreign school students combined with local Vietnamese professional players.
Soloists:
Canadians, Australians, Koreans, Japanese and local Vietnamese.
Charity:
Between 2008 and 2011:
Presented scholarships to thirteen Vietnamese and three Korean students;
Donated funds to Red Cross
Paid honorarium to Vietnamese instrumental and vocal musicians;
